A little thank you gift for my father. As a daughter of a chef, mise en place is a philosophy that has been ingrained in my daily life. It translates to “everything in its place”. Spending the time to plan, prepare, and organize for a space to work and clear mind to create is essential for a successful kitchen. It’s taught me to invest time to plan ahead so I can have time for things that are truly important.
Because I don’t draw and paint nearly enough at my full-time job, I’m starting an alphabetical sketch blog chronicling my discovery of artifacts/facts, places&spaces to satisfy my wanderlust (and perhaps a touch of neuroticism)!
Starting in the Medittereanen, we’ll begin the series in Alberobello, a small town in Puglia, Italy. It is most famous for its picturesque trulli constructions. Made from limestone, a trullo is a small dwelling built with a conical roof.
